About “Peace Cards for Humanity”
“I found myself feeling very grounded and connected internally when reading about your Peace Cards. If I am feeling this from reading the description, I imagine it would help a lot to create a "Peace Card” composition." I'm really struck by how much art therapy and exploration through writing can get at grief on different levels. It really feels like it gets to the grief that is "trapped," which is so powerful and amazing to offer others an outlet for that through your Peace Cards for Humanity.”

“Peace Cards for Humanity”tm
“Peace Cards grew out of both personal loss and professional insight. I was listening to the Huberman podcast featuring Dr. Ethan Kross, author of Chatter, where they were discussing ways to work with the inner voice and process difficult emotional experiences. They mentioned expressive writing therapy and the idea that writing for as little as 15 minutes a day can be helpful. But it also made me think about something very simple: as human beings, we naturally resist effort. We tend to conserve it.
After my father passed away when I was 17, the support I received was traditional talk therapy. I committed to it for over two years, and while it was helpful, it was also emotionally demanding, time-consuming, and difficult to sustain. That experience stayed with me and shaped the question that would later guide my work: how can healing be made more accessible, more humane, and less intimidating?
As I developed my curriculum, I wanted to create a method that would ease people into processing grief, trauma, and emotional pain. Drawing from sensory integration, perception psychology, color work, and my background in design, I created Peace Cards as a structured yet intuitive tool.
The system uses cards based on sound, color, smell, and timeless symbols of forgiveness. Participants choose 4 cards, either randomly or intentionally. Here is the powerful thing about Peace Cards for Humanity: You don’t need to have the right words to begin! We start with image, color, and guided prompts, a simple way to access what is often hard to articulate.
Using simple materials like watercolor, colored pencils, etc., music can be played, candles can be lit, notes can be written, and conversation can unfold naturally. The process creates a gentle buffer—space to feel, reflect, and express yourself. Unlike talk therapy, writing therapy, or even collage, this process results in a tangible image. It does not have to look like anything. But it becomes a record of how the participant felt on that particular day. They can keep it, frame it, put it on the refrigerator, share it with someone they love, post it online, throw it away, or even burn it in a fire if that feels meaningful. The point is that it exists as a real expression of an internal experience.
Just as we go to the gym to train for strength, endurance, or a race, these are exercises that help train us to let go of what is no longer serving us—the pain, the hurt, the guilt, the unresolved weight we continue to carry. Forgiving ourselves is not easy. Healing does require effort. But perhaps that effort can be made more humane, more sensory, more creative, and more compassionate.
We are three-dimensional human beings. It makes sense to me that grief should be addressed more dimensionally as well—through sensory integration, color, sound, smell, and symbols of forgiveness. These tools may not erase pain, but they can offer comfort. They can create movement. And they may help us heal a little faster, or at least a little more gently, especially in areas such as disenfranchised grief, trauma, and self-forgiveness.”

Plein Air Painting
Plein air — from the French 'en plein air,' meaning 'in the open air' — is the practice of painting outdoors, directly in front of the subject. No photographs, no studio filters, just you, your materials, and the living world before you. The light changes, the wind moves, the tide shifts, and so does the work. You are not painting a static image; you are painting a moment that will never exist in quite the same way again.
Cynthia's workshops embrace this fully, using the shorelines of Macatawa and Saugatuck, the mountain landscapes of Edwards, Colorado, and the sweeping vistas of the American West as both subject and teacher. Each location brings its own palette and quality of light — pushing you to observe more carefully, respond more instinctively, and trust what you see. Whether you are a seasoned painter or picking up a brush for the first time, painting in the open air has a way of cutting through hesitation and connecting you directly to the work.

Full Moon Workshops
Full Moon Workshops celebrate the rhythm of the seasons and the gentle power of gathering under the night sky.
Each session, we gather in a small nature-oriented (weather permitting) setting that encourages the "TrippGrowth Method" of Release. Reflect. Process. Grow & Flourish.
We begin with a simple grounding moment such as a shared breath, a candle lit, a brief guided meditation. From there the conversation unfolds around a theme that invites personal storytelling. Each month we explore a theme inspired by the turning of the year and the energy of the moon, blending simple intention setting and hands-on creativity. Every workshop includes a seasonal project, such as themed paintings or art made from natural materials gathered on our hikes. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with space for reflection, conversation, and a cup of tea. These gatherings offer a peaceful pause from daily life and a chance to connect with beauty, spirit, and community beneath the full moon.

New Moon Workshops
New Moon Workshops are hosted every other month and offer unique and welcoming space to pause, reflect, and explore the quieter side of personal reflection.
Each session, we gather in a small nature-oriented (weather permitting) setting that encourages the “TrippGrowth method “ of Release. Reflect. Process. Grow & Flourish.
We begin with a simple grounding moment such as a shared breath, a candle lit, a brief guided meditation. From there the conversation unfolds around a theme that invites personal storytelling, self-defined beliefs, and the ways each person creates meaning in their own life. The flow is guided yet organic, allowing participants to speak from the heart and to listen deeply without judgment. A gentle reset at the start of each lunar cycle, it is a natural time to plant ideas, clarify intentions, and feel supported by a group of like-minded people without judgment
